Matamata Budget Advisory Service Inc.

About

Matamata Budget Advisory Service is a not-for-profit organisation which offers free and impartial budgeting advice to the community.

We aim to assist and support clients in developing good money management.

We have a dedicated team who are fully trained to assist and support clients in developing good money management skills so that they can reach their goals while living within their means.

We offer a confidential service and respect the clients needs and independence.

Money Mentoring

We can sit down with client/s, draw up a budget and/or deal with a specific issue. We can give ideas or recommendations, assist with filling in relevant paperwork and point clients in the right direction.

We are able to liaise with third parties and help suggest possible solutions.

If client/s need a more detailed and ongoing service we will endeavour to find an advisor to work one-on-one with you on a regular basis to ensure needs are met and until you are confident to continue budgeting alone.

Family Meetings

For best results in relation to budgeting the whole family are involved.

By holding family meetings we are able to offer budgeting advice and, due to our connections with other community groups and organisations, we are able to refer to other relevant organisations to help mediate and deal with family issues.

Mediators are available for family meetings to ensure that the necessary help is available and maintained.

Training & Education

We offer free workshops and events throughout the year.

Topics include:
* Budgeting workshops
* Dealing with Christmas
* Buying first home
* Renting/moving out
* Food on a budget
* And many more…..

If you wish to be contacted with details of our seminars or wish us to arrange an event for your organisation, please telephone or email the office with your details.

Strengthening Families

The Strengthening Families process connects a whānau who require assistance from more than one agency or community service.

This is a voluntary process and once signed up one of our team would discuss the support a whānau needs and agree on the steps necessary to help you achieve their goals.

The lead contact person would support a whānau through the process, facilitate group meetings and ensure that agreed actions are followed through.
